Sunday September 30 Final Day in Los Angeles

This was our last day in USA and as our flight didn't leave till 10.40pm , we had to work out what to do.
Luckily, the hotel will allow you to stay in your room till 6 pm if you pay a fee. Richie and Shelley, Paul and Ann and us were able to keep one room , share the fee so we all had a place to store our luggage and have a shower prior to heading off to the airport. Heaven!
Rich and Shelley headed off to the beach for the day but we shared some Ubers with Paul and Ann and headed into town to have a look at the Chinese Theatre  and all the stars on the footpath. Very touristy and a bit dated but not too bad- you can buy yourself your own academy statue if you like and lots of hawkers trying to get you to do "tours of the movie star houses".
Back into the car and headed to Santa Monica Pier - very Noose like with lots of high end shopping. Took a stroll down the pier and found the sign for end of Route 66. A short stroll around the place then back to the hotel for a shower and out to the airport to check the bags, enjoy a nice wine and a bit of cheese and a 15 hour flight home. All on time landing at 7.15am , grabbed the duty free gin and scotch on the way through and then home by about 10.30am.

21 days through Washington DC, Maryland, Delaware, North and South Carolina , Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California . 4,500 miles of ever changing scenery and people - all interested to talk about our adventures.
Great group who were christened the Roo Riders by our american lady from New Hampshire.
Its time to look back at all the photos and footage as there was so much that we did and saw so hard to remember it .
