Saturday September 15 Chattanooga to Memphis TN

Another early start and headed into Alabama to check out Russell Cave National Monument. This was a shelter for 10,000 years for many of the early inhabitants of the area and many artifacts  have been found here. We were probably more aware of the beware of snake signs and managed to see a Black Rat Snake relaxing on a rock close to the boardwalk. He was more interested in getting away from us. After that is was a  blast down the highway to Memphis. No potholes or dips to be seen anywhere.

Got into Memphis and headed down to Beale Street that evening. Much like Bourbon Street in New Orleans. They close it down to traffic on Saturday night and the place is a little crazy. Lights, noise, music and lots of people. Had ribs and Gumbo for dinner while listening to a guy playing the blues.

Tomorrow is a rest day so we get a chance to have a look around Memphis and do some much needed washing.

  1. Is that a Harley leather sleeveless jacket you are wearing Russell? Obviously a convert!
