Wednesday 5 September
Today was our big adventure day heading off to rid over the Golden gate bridge to Sausalito. Up early to go and hire the bikes for the day and then off along the bike path along the waters edge to tackle the bridge. As usual the bridge was in fog so we are not sure when they take the beautiful photo of the Golden Gate without a cloud in the sky. Plenty of hills to climb up and down to get there but really worth the effort and the view is spectacular and a long way down to the water.

The bay bridge is much bigger but I don’t think you can ride across it.
We went across during rush hour so much like the Westgate bridge at about the same time. Lots of bikes and walkers then down the hill to town for some well earned breakfast and a wander around before catching the ferry back to San Francisco. much have a big problem with push bikes in Sausalito as there are signs everywhere about not parking bikes and in some cases you have to pay for bike “parking’. Still mountain goat country with plenty of very steep hills. . Once off the ferry rode down to Giants baseball stadium which makes the MCG/Etihad look pretty small . Would be amazing to be around when a game is on to see the number people that would be going in there.

Finished off the day with another cable ride into town and then walked back out to where we re staying.
Getting ready for an early start to head off to Washington to meet up with the rest of the crew.
