Wednesday September 12 Roanoke Virginia - Blowing Rock North Carolina
Today was our day to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. We have been much luckier with the weather today as we move away from the coast. The morning started showery but cleared to a beautiful afternoon. It was a product of the New Deal's efforts to provide jobs to the unemployed of the Great Depression. construction began in Sept 1935 and was finally completed in 1983.
We had a fantastic day with great riding and wonderful scenery. We have stooped the night at a wonderful place called Blowing Rock. Beautiful little town tat si the centre of North Carolina's ski fields so very cold here in the winter. So now its time to join the others outside for pizza and a glass of red.
Glad you are heading inland. The coast line looks a bit ominous from reports reaching Aus. Stay safe and have fun.
